What a man needs in his Life to achieve success?

Choose what you work in carefully

This article will involve examples of Canadian stuff. Even if you are not from Canada I am pretty sure the general ideas will help you to grow in life.

Every man seeks success in his life. And this little post is my plan toward success. It starts with things that I choose as a pathway to that success. Now, your plan might be different and your ideas of success could be different. Hopefully, you can find something in this post that will help you get a little close to the big dreams that you have in your mind.

I divide it into three steps. I wish there was a way that I could guide my younger self to follow these steps. Even if that’s impossible, I hope this post will find you at the right time.

First step is  - A good job

Now what is a good job? For me it is the one that interests me, teaches me new skills, keeps me in a routine and gives me a satisfactory amount of money. Satisfactory for me is enough that after all my expenses I have more than $1000 dollars to spare at the end of the month.

When I first started working as an ironworker, saving $1000 was not possible for me but at least I knew if I keep doing it consistently I will be able to achieve that. And this month, May 2023 is finally going to be the one that I manage to do. It has been almost one year since I started this work. And this is only starting. I still have a lot more room for growth in terms of money.

After my High school I went to college as everyone does. Did my business management diploma. I found later on that I am not interested in what I did. Also, I did not find the diploma worth $35000 that I spent. I was not able to find a job that will satisfy me either.

A Big Change - Starting apprenticeship

I was lucky enough that I started out as an apprentice in Ironworkers as a Union member. We go to college to gain enough skills to get a good paying job. There is no guarantee thou. On the other hand, apprenticeship will help you gain skills that will guarantee you a high paying skilled job. The greatest of all is that you doesn't have to pay all that money.

I worked in the fast food industry for quite a bit, a low paying mundane job. It is good when you need a flexible job with your college or as your second job with some extra cash but I know I can’t imagine myself working that job at minimum pay for the rest of my life. If you are doing that. You should consider joining an apprenticeship for a skilled trade . You can find more information on that by looking up Skilled trades on google for your province. I will share some examples below. The work is hard. You will be out in the cold and hot weather working physically. But If you do that for five years you will end up a different man than what you are now.
